Dr. J. Mark Tillotson

A search for the "North Star" of truth has served longtime Alaskan and native Michigander Dr. Mark Tillotson well on his path to becoming the naturopathic doctor he is today. While in college he experienced the rewards of discovering a variety of truths by becoming active in the Free university of Detroit and founding a Free University at the University of Michigan. At this time, he also first noticed the question of truth in conventional medicine when he consulted his family physician suffering from seasonal allergies but was instead told it was viral rhinitis and given an antibiotic. A few years later, Mark found improved health and relief from stress under a naturopathic doctor's care. He immediately recognized a truth he could appreciate in alternative medicine which he wanted to learn more about and share. This led to his enrollment at Bastyr University in Seattle.

While in medical school, Mark was struck by three particular approaches to healing which have blossomed for him since. One wasthe usefulness of objective medical knowledge and scientific testing for affirming and monitoring the progression of naturopathic precepts and care. His physiology professor, Dr Elias Eliya, went on to found the cutting-edge Diagnos-Techs lab which has played a central role in Dr. Tillotson's practice. Second was his intuitive experience about the potential for a new allergy treatment which prepares personalized vaccines from one's own environmental allergens. Mark then worked with the allergist who had presented this therapy in class to learn first hand about how this method could be put into practice. The technique, known as Sublingual Immunotherapy or SLIT, is now the standard of care in many leading European countries. Mark was also attracted to the possibilities of Homeopathy as a powerful healing modality and began to look forward to discovering more truth about it.

While practicing in Alaska, Dr. Tillotson was contacted by his friend and colleague from school, Dr. Ken Gilbert, about Fravarti's homeopathic consulting services. He began sending her his homeopathic cases and received impressive recommendations regarding appropriate remedies. Dr. Tillotson immediately began to resonate with this process of realizing the truths inherent in classical and constitutional homeopathic care, also providing such remarkable results under Fravarti's guidance. While attending homeopathic classes for doctors, taught by Fravarti, in a program created and presented by the Complementary Medicine Association, Dr. Tillotson expanded his understanding of how homeopathy heals which led him to further participation in subsequent homeopathic training with Fravarti. Dr. Tillotson continues to integrate the truths he has found in his practice with ongoing rewards for both himself and his clients. Classical Homeopathy is utilized, in conjunction with the lasting effectiveness of SLIT, to address the underlying vulnerabilities of his allergy patients. Specialized lab testing, detoxification techniques, and naturopathic supplementation are also utilized to complement and support his patients' diagnoses and healing.
